I am Living Out Loud

I am a Registered Nurse with 28 years of Emergency Department experience. 4 years ago I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension which is rare, progressive and fatal. I am going to need a heart transplant in the future. The doctors at Stanford believe that I was exposed to a virus while working in the ED that has destroyed my heart. I have not been able to work since I was diagnosed.

While on oxygen and an IV in my arm that went directly to my heart so I could give myself medication daily, I have lost 186 pounds (on my own). While sick, my husband of 21 years left me for some woman he met at work. We are going through a divorce.

I am now trim, slim, off the oxygen, no IV and off the transplant list for now. I am Living Out Loud.

I refuse to give up!

I have been in the same place (the golden gates) and I too was kicked back. I am an above the knee amputee
still learning how to walk with a prothesis. I refuse to give up. I would like to take the shirt to several of the groups I have been active in. Re:Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living, and soon the Renown Rehabilitation Hospital. I am fitting for a new leg, computerized, so I will be working with Dr. Brown there as we learn to use the bionic prothesis. I am so lovin the shirts.

It beats crying out loud.

Quit the corporate world

I'm in awe of what you have done - and it's made me step back and take a look at how I can pursue some of my dreams - albeit late in life. What I really want to do is quit the corporate world and carry out my dream to bring laughter to people through my involvement with the World Laughter Tour organization (worldlaughtertour.org).

I'm a Certified Laughter Leader with them. Our goal is to bring health, happiness and peace to the world through laughter

Living on the edge and going the distance worked for us

Everyone has heard the horror stories of "internet dating". Well, I have a success story.

I started chatting with someone online. We chatted on line and via phone for 1 yr. We finally decided to meet
face to face. He, being from NY and me, being from NH. It was the beginning of a long distance relationship which
resulted in marrage. We met on a Friday the 13th of Oct. 2000. We married in Sept of 2002.

So, living on the edge and going the distance worked for us.
