I was told that I had a very strong will to live...and that's what I did.

About a year ago I let something take control of me that I swore never would. Alcohol became not only a crutch it became a way of life, a crutch, a sleep aid, and a friend. Not only did I loose myself I lost everyone around me that I cared about. On August 29th, 2004 I nearly lost my life due to a severe case of pancreatitis from excessive drinking. I spent 19 days in the hopsital which gave me plenty of time to think about what I needed to do if I got the chance. On the thirteenth day of my hospital stay I was told that I had a very strong will to live... and that's what I did.

As soon as I got out I started work on my third album. Being a musician, I had to deal with the fact that alcohol was going to be all around me. That wasn't even an issue for me, being faced with a life or death situation kinda curbs your appetite for drinking. Here it is almost a year later not only have I finished and released my third album, I will be opening up for the The Bacon Brothers (that's right the Footlose guy Kevin Bacon has a band with his brother), and will be alcohol free for a year this August.

If I have any advice to give it's this: Embrace every step you take for you never know if it will be your last!!!

I found myself facing an uncertain future

More years ago than I care to remember, I was unemployed, had no formal education beyond high school, and on the verge of a divorce. With 4 children to support and the usual complement of bills to pay, I found myself facing an uncertain future. I had been unemployed for 18 months. I had been laid off when the company that I worked for closed. While my children were in school during the day, I began a job reentry-training program. Toward the end of the program, I found that I needed to find employment that would suit the skill set that I had learned as well as my work experience. The rest as they say is history. I got a job at a local college, started taking classes and off I went.

10 years later (yes I did remember how long ago) and after a few setbacks including two periods during which my children and I were close to homelessness, I own my own home, am working at as a marketing professional at a college in New Hampshire, finished my bachelors degree and am working on my masters!
