Taking different routes, but arriving at the same point, Two Hampstead women made decisions to change their lives and
their lifestyles - and opened a business in the process. Call it an epiphany, a wake-up call, Kristine Fichera and Alyson Bruu decided to change the way they earned a living and open Liv'n Out Loud! Clothing Company, which produces a line of
casual clothing.

"This new brand encourages people to look at -- and live -- their lives differently," said Fichera.

The clothing the women sell is 100 percent cotton in sun-washed tones, intended to be comfortable, the kind of clothes
people wear when they want to be relaxed.

Bruu went through a "near-death" experience and subsequent period of soul searching to reach her moment of change. Fichera’s inspiration came after 18 years of what she termed uninspiring corporate work. "A six-figure salary just didn’t
add up to happiness," Fichera said.

The two asked themselves what their purpose in life was and where they were going. The more they talked and shared ideas, the more they realized that they could reach their goals if they believed in themselves.

They decided to start their own company and sell a line of clothing that would promote their message of personal empowerment.

Bruu said, "There is a personal movement underway...and the timing of this venture is exquisite. It's not enough anymore to just have a 'good' life."

"We wouldn't be able to encourage the Liv'n Out Loud! lifestyle unless we'd done a little of it ourselves,"
said Fichera, president of the company.

"The colors are for everyday moods," said Bruu. "The clothing is designed for a lifestyle of free-spirited, simple pleasures.
The comfort factor was paramount in designing this clothing line."

The women offer T-shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, baseball hats, bracelets and tote bags. The women add new items on a regular basis, the latest being "onesies" for babies. Some of their items sport inspirational or humorous quotes.

Fichera handles sales, operations and accounting, while Bruu, executive vice president of the company, manages marketing, advertising, promotions and public relations for the company. Bruu also runs her own marketing agency,
December Marketing.

The clothing is being sold online and will be in select retail outlets soon. For more information,
